NATIONAL DUMP THE PUMP DAY: INTERURBAN TROLLEY INTRODUCES REAL-TIME RIDER INFORMATION SYSTEM
Elkhart - We’ve all experienced the growing feeling of impatience as we stand at a bus stop, wondering when the next bus will be arriving. Well wait no more! In celebration of the twelfth annual National Dump the Pump Day, the Interurban Trolley introduced a real-time rider information system.
Information is now available at the click of a mouse or touch of the screen from a desktop computer, smartphone, or tablet at: ride.interurbantrolley.com.
Riders may also download the free Ride Systems app from the Google Play or Apple App Store and then select the Agency, “Interurban Trolley”.
The website and companion mobile apps have an overview map to view where all the trolleys are at one time, plus the ability to zoom in and select their individual stop and see the approximate arrival time of the next trolley. This allows a rider to find out when the Trolley will arrive in real-time, providing valuable information for their everyday commute.
This new system also allows riders to get instant updates and notifications from the Trolley about operations, detours, or delays.
Over the summer, additional signage will be installed at all fixed route stops that will provide stop identification (ID) numbers. This will give riders another way to access tracking information by texting the word “Trolley” followed by the bus stop ID to 41411.
